Created a customer-facing portal that hosted 12 websites in 8 languages using true multiple language support (MLS). Based on J2EE, featured a DB2 content management system, tied into enterprise employee LDAP directory for authentication, real time publishing from staging to production, ultra low code maintenance and high extensibility. Was hands on from requirements discovery through deployment, also played lead developer role. Mentored peers and provided education to department (brown bag lunches, lectures) on variety of topics. The module was used to create W8, W9, wire transfer instructions and share transfer forms for end users to fill out. The module recorded data entered by users, kept historical data such as form changes and supported per-company fields. Written in Java (JSP, Servlets, Beans) with Sybase stored procedures. Gave technical direction to a team of four employees. Used WebSphere, VisualAge, NES, Sybase and Solaris.

Technical lead and architect for a financial portal that implemented web-based single sign-on over heterogeneous platforms (including NT/2000, Solaris and AIX). Allowed customers to see a "single website" representing their investment balances from various external websites. Project was mainly in Java with some PERL, extensive focus on security (including PKI, SSL, DCE and SnareWorks). Gave technical direction to a team of four employees and one consultant; worked closely with Data Security and Firmwide Architecture departments. Used WebSphere, NES, Oracle, AIX, LDAP, and Resonate.

Technical Producer and Lead for the 1997 Deep Blue vs. Kasparov Website. This site later received the Cool Site of the Year award in the live event category. Designed technology used to dynamically send moves and updates to viewers; designed on-site network (with dual, redundant T1 links to Internet). Worked closely with managing editors to release fresh content on time; chess experts to add links and captions in real-time during the matches; and all technical and editorial staff to ensure accuracy and stability throughout the tournament. Connected via TCP/IP sockets to an OS/2 server running CM to communicate with a mainframe problem management database (via EHLLAPI); and to a DB/2 Customer Database for authentication.
